Per ottenere la tilde (~), anche con la tastiera italiana, basta premere AltGr+ì

Io i driver wireless li ho dovuti scaricare e compilare dal sito della broadcom.

L’assenza di Led è una ca##ta imbarazzante. Ma come si fa?
capisco che non c’è il carnevale di qualche hp pavilion, ma io DEVO sapere se l’hd sta facendo qualcosa!
a proposito qualcuno sa se c’è un software sotto linxu per simulare l’hd led su schermo?

Dell 15 1557 has 6GiB of RAM, so – unless you use the 32 bit PAE kernel, 3GiB are wasted.

After the 32 bit version I tried the 64 bit version and everything works (but you still have to configure alsa for audio). Even the proprietary ATI driver, the Broadcom STA driver and Adobe Flash work. The only downside is that the Broadcom STA driver poorly supports WPA-TKIP (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules/+bug/294878 ), as workaround you can use WPA-AES. So: I recommend using the 64 bit version.

So, you recommed to install Ubuntu 32bit version? How much of the 4GB of RAM is wasted when using the 32bit version?

Purtroppo ho dovuto formattare e sono tornato a Windows e non ho avuto la possibilità di provare tutto. Ho usato Kubuntu Karmic a 32 bit. I tasti funzione per alzare e abbassare la luminosità funzionavano correttamente, quelli per il volume invece no – il volume rimaneva bloccato a zero, ma la tastiera continuava a funzionare.

Il problema dei DVD è probabilmente un problema di solo software. Per essere sicuro di non aver scordato pacchetti la cosa più semplice da provare è aggiungere ai repository Medibuntu e installare il pacchetto ubuntu-restricted-extras.

I tasti funzione lavorano correttamente? Io ho provato Ubuntu Karmic 64 bit e quando provo ad abbassare il volume la tastiera si disattiva e nei menu tipo Applicazioni, Risorse, non appare nulla…
Inoltre non riesco a riprodurre i DVD Criptati nonostante io abbia installato libdvdcss e libdvdread….
